Although he is very old, Rowen is extremely adept at using the Spyrix technology adopted across Rieze Maxia. Now an aid for King Gaius in Rieze Maxia, Rowen attempts to stregthen the bond of many nations in an attempt to stop civil unrest and discrimination. Her potent spirit artes havent declined in the slightest after the war and despite this time of peace her strength has grown significantly. She still stays in the Sharilton manor where she learns to be a fine young lady.

As Alvin partners up with Jurgens he learns that despite his eyes being opened to what is good about the world there still lies a moral gray area that he must distinguish for himself, and how to walk it.Įlize graduated from being a shy little girl to a brave young lady attending an academy in Reize Maxia. Even so, Alvin opens up his heart and mind a bit to create stronger bonds with his friends, specifically Jurgens. Using the connections she has forged she can find information not many people are privy to.Īlthough Alvin has abandoned his tragic past self he struggles to maintain a sense of moral good. This attitude carries her through the harsh world of journalism and reporting as she struggles to find a story that will ease the hearts of people and carry her through fame and glory. Over the course of a single year Leia has grown into a more mature girl despite still being easy going. Even so, with his friends by his side, the brave doctor moves ever onwards. Unfortunately, his work is not with criticism as he receives harsh words from various people for taking a route that can endanger the world. Having fully earned his doctorate in Spirit arts, he has progressed into researching how Spyrix can be used for the benefit of both spirit and man.
Jude has matured into a fine young man after the course of the first games events. However, just like Ludger, his heritage binds him to a destiny filled with both sadness and tragedy. He works with the largest corporation in Elempios, Spirius, bringing him and his brother financial stability. Still, for those who've played a role playing game before, there should be little in the way of stumbling blocks here.Ludgers older and protective brother, Julius, has a strong sense of justice and decorum. You can earn money in game by taking on jobs for people, which usually tracking down an item or dispatching a certain number of monsters for them, but it's a gating system that may be a bit complex for some players. Ludger's loan may also pose a bit of a stumbling block, as you need to keep up with your repayments to carry on opening up new areas to explore and advance the story. Reading is pretty essential too, as not everything that takes place in Xillia 2 is voiced - jobs, quests and tutorials are all done through text on screen, potentially leaving the less confident readers confused as to where to go next (pressing R2 will bring up a handy on-screen reminder of what you need to do next though, assuming you can read it!). It's pretty confusing, and something that requires a lot of micro-managing from players. Sussing out the game's levelling up system, where characters grow stronger and learn new moves and abilities, may be a bit more of a problem though, as you need to keep switching between equipped 'extractor' items to make the most of each increase in power. Attacking is a simple matter of mashing either X for regular attacks, or O for special skills - and can be made even easier if necessary by dropping the game's difficulty down to 'Easy' at any time, letting you slice through foes like the proverbial knife through butter. Battles are real-time free-for-alls, where you and a party of up to three other characters (each controlled either by the computer, or a friend in the same room) take on groups of enemies together.
